As one who share his time between the business of the BUSY-NESS in Hollywood - Down Town Los- Angeles and the serenity of the North-Shore Hawaii often i have being asked what there is to DO in The North Shore. So we created the HAKALAU retreat-One meaning of Hakalau is "to focus in and to spread out." -our guest find it as a life transforming experience with some AHA MOMENTS - moments of clarity, where they gain real wisdom - wisdom they use to change their life on back home.
We use three kinds of activities listed bellow as tools for our inner selves "make over" and maintenance.
Stand up paddle
No matter if your desire is hard core work out or a peacefully activity, you will find it in one of our daily stand up paddle lesson, We do not have the words to describe the serenity you get by stand up paddling across the NORTH SHORE beaches, A lot of our guest have nothing to do with surfing ,so the "A day of stand up paddling experience" give them the chance to enjoy the view every surfer is getting stoked by.
We recognize the stand up paddling as an active meditation , So a discussion regarding awareness, observation, being here and now will be integrated with the stand up paddle lesson itself.
No previous experience is needed but being comfortable in a swimming pool and good health.
We conduct private sessions, couple and groups for your choice.

Learn to stand up paddle surf with us here in beautiful southern tip of the Nicoya peninsula! We specialize in private instruction. We are dedicated stand up paddlers, stoked to share our passion with you. Your first lesson will absolutely be conducted on flat,naturally protected waters.

The fee for private lesson start at $125/person. The lesson lasts a two and a half hour with the majority of this time spent on the water. All equipment is provided.
